Supporting our Nervous System
If you’re wanting to do quality work in this world and you have your eye set on the long game, self-care is part of your job description no mater what line of work you’re in. YOU are your most important asset in this life!
Get yourself to yoga, meditation, nature, movement, the gym, the pool, a 5 minute headstand or a few restorative poses in your own living room. Whatever gets you to clear your head, reset your nervous system, shake off the fear and anxiety, and come home to your heart, to your core: to remembering your own inner North Star.
From this place, really good choices are made, communication on all levels is more aligned, and you become magnetic if only from the sheer luminosity of your own inner capacity for peace and joy within a turbulent world.

Processing emotions through the body
The way we process the events in our lives is both emotional AND physiological.
Emotional states will have a place in the body where they are reverberating or ocuring - and physical ailments and pains will have a place in the emotional body and psyche where they reverberate.
Nothing that happens within the ocean of your being is not attached to everything else - and no part of the body exists in isolation to any other part - or the state of your heart, mind and spirit for that matter.

Emotional states will have a place in the body where they are reverberating or ocuring - and physical ailments and pains will have a place in the emotional body and psyche where they reverberate.
Nothing that happens within the ocean of your being is not attached to everything else - and no part of the body exists in isolation to any other part - or the state of your heart, mind and spirit for that matter.
Pressing a tennis ball for a few minutes into the soles of your feet will deepen your breath and take your nervous system into the “rest and digest” mode - a deeper state of consciousness where you can access a deep well of power, capacity and insight available within you.
Skillfully stretching the hamstrings, quads or shoulders will directly open up the mobility of your entire spine - easing back pain, allowing proper organ function, supporting digestion, diaphragmatic breathing, and clearer, deeper thinking.
We’re practicing all this and more over the next few weeks in class. It’s one thing to talk about it, and a completely different thing to actually feel in your own body the shifts that happen for your breath and mind when you move with skill, knowledge and intention.
